Dairy Products Infographic #1: Cow & Yak

In Mongolia, the broadest range of dairy products are made from cow and yak as well as from sheep and goat milk.
Herds of cows are abundant in the steppe-ecology zones of Mongolia while yaks are mostly bred in northern Mongolia and mountainous regions such as Khövsgöl or Arkhangai provinces.
This flow chart provides an overview of the dairy products made from cow and yak milk in the area of Khatgal, Khövsgöl province. While this graphic already shows a high diversity of products, there are likely many more foods created from cow/yak milk throughout other regions of Mongolia.
